This Privacy Charter applies whenever you use the gigaweb.be website and specifies how and for what purposes gigaweb.be collects, processes, protects and shares your personal data.

By using the gigaweb.be website, you consent to the processing of your personal data by gigaweb.be as described in this charter. You confirm that you are at least 18 years old or that you have obtained permission from your parents or legal guardians to give this consent.

gigaweb.be uses "Your Data" to:

1. Authenticate you and offer you a personalised interface;
2. Enable authentication for placing orders and making purchases on gigaweb;
3. Enable use of the helpdesk.

gigaweb.be does not disclose "Your Data" to any partner. It only uses it in the context of the website's operation.

gigaweb.be places great importance on your ability to control Your Data. That's why you can at any time correct, complete or delete the data you have provided to us by logging into your personal account.

You also have the right, at any time, to modify your account and all "Your Data" by clicking on the "My Details" tab in the "My Settings" section of the website.

Access to "Your Data" is limited to the Administrators of the gigaweb.be website.

We try to do everything possible to guarantee the security and confidentiality of "Your Data". However, despite our efforts to create a reliable and trustworthy website, we remind you that the internet is not a perfectly secure environment.

Consequently, gigaweb.be assumes no responsibility or warranty regarding the security of "Your Data" while it is in transit over the internet.

We reserve the right to amend this Privacy Charter in order to comply with applicable privacy legislation or to adapt it to our practices.

Gigaweb provides its customers with a private area allowing them to access their information, orders and services.

Data processed when logging in

When a user logs into their customer area, Gigaweb processes the data necessary for their identification and the use of their account, in particular:

• their customer ID, email address or username;
• their password during the verification process;
• their internal customer ID;
• their display name;
• their preferred language;
• the technical information necessary for creating, maintaining and securing the session.

This processing is necessary for the performance of the contract concluded with the customer, for the provision of the requested private area, and for protecting accounts against unauthorised access.

Password processing

The password entered by the user is used to verify their identity when logging in.

After this verification, the password is not stored in the customer area's session data. The session only contains the information necessary for identifying the user and operating their private area.

The browser may offer the user the option to save their login details in its own password manager. This feature is managed by the browser, under the user's control, and does not constitute storage carried out by Gigaweb in the application's session data.

Session cookie

To maintain the connection to the private area, Gigaweb uses a session cookie named:

gigaweb_client_portal

This cookie contains a technical identifier allowing the server to recognise the user's session. It does not contain their password.

It is used in particular to:

• maintain the connection while browsing;
• identify the authenticated user;
• restrict access to pages reserved for customers;
• temporarily retain certain preferences necessary for the operation of the portal;
• ensure the continuity and security of the session.

This cookie is strictly necessary for the operation of the customer area explicitly requested by the user. It is not used for advertising, profiling or tracking purposes on other websites.

Its use therefore does not require prior consent. Blocking this cookie would prevent the normal operation of the private area.

Session duration

Information associated with the session is temporarily retained for the period necessary for the use of the customer area.

The session may end, in particular:

• when the user logs out;
• when it expires after a period of inactivity;
• when the browser or device ends the session;
• when Gigaweb invalidates the session for security reasons.

When authentication is performed, the session's technical identifier is renewed to reduce the risk of reuse of a previous session.

Certain technical data, in particular connection and security logs, may be retained separately for a limited period in order to detect unauthorised access, analyse incidents and protect Gigaweb's services.

Security of the customer area

Gigaweb implements technical and organisational measures proportionate to the risks in order to preserve the confidentiality, integrity and availability of the data processed in the customer area.

These measures include, in particular:

• limiting the data retained in the session;
• renewing the session identifier upon authentication;
• managing session duration and expiry;
• restricting access to features reserved for authenticated users;
• invalidating the session upon logout;
• monitoring and regularly improving security mechanisms.

Protective measures are regularly reassessed and may evolve based on identified risks, technical developments and the state of the art.

Users are also encouraged to protect access to their device, not to share their login details, and to log out when using a shared device.
